Subscription to the service for those who live outside of Latin America requires membership of the Conference of Latin Americanist Geographers ($25). For Latin Americans the service will be provided free of charge for one year from the date of their subscription to CLAGNET, and then they will be expected to join CLAG and pay the modest $15 annual membership fee which will give them not only continued access to this service, but also copies of the new Journal of Latin American Geography that has replaced the previous Yearbook, and the opportunity to participate in CLAG conferences.
CLAGNET allows subscribers to post all types of messages:
First line:CLAGNET@listserv.syr.edu
Subject:CLAG conference
Message: Does anybody know the dates of the conference to be held in Cuba later this year, and will Americans have problems getting visas?
Soon afterwards one should receive a message (or several) in reply from anybody subscribed to CLAGNET.
Upon subscription to this service members will receive instructions as to how they may modify the periodicity with which they receive messages via CLAGNET.
