I. WRITE YOUR MISSION STATEMENT

You can use the following or add to it. "To develop skills, build character, and explore different career paths during my years at college."

II. SKILL AND CHARACTER SELF-ASSESSMENT INVENTORY
Use the following questionnaire to indicate your current skill level and your plan for the next twelve months to develop these skills. For each skill listed, circle your current level according to the 1–5 scale. Under the question, write down your plan for improving your skills.
KEY
1 - Have no skill, not even sure I understand the item
2 -Understand the meaning of the item and have some idea of how I might do it
3 -Have some experience and competence in exercising the skill
4 -Have exercised the skills in a competent way on several occasions
5 -Feel confident that I can exercise the skills on topics where I have the necessary knowledge

Comment on each activity's relevance with respect to a career field. Only those courses that clearly help in exploring a career should be included. Keeping this document as detailed and up-to-date as possible will help you produce a great resume and prepare for an even better interview when you apply for internships, jobs, and graduate school.
